Phethean is a painter based in West Cornwall with a studio in the Salt Cellar Workshops, harbourside in Porthleven. Her painting practise as a muralist thrived alongside her work as an architectural designer and led to an international career which began in the Lebanon.

Large scale projects included International Airport Lounges for Virgin Atlantic, and refurbishment of The Kensington Roof Gardens in London.  Later her career diversified to include event design and installation. Her clients include Coca Cola, Lilt and the Notting Hill Carnival Trust.

She has had installations exhibited in the Saatchi Gallery in London, at the Eden Project and the Natural History Museum to name but a few.

Phethean moved to Cornwall in 2003 in order to paint full time.

She is a member of the St Ives Society of Artists.

'Phethean's paintings reflect a sense of the sublime. As an alchemist strives for gold Phethean strives to express the intangible, trusting her emotional instincts her work is both aesthetically beautiful and intensely courageous'.
